Dennis Schröder Got A Technical Foul For Standing Over Draymond Green And Taunting Him

Schröder seemed to find the whole thing very funny.

The Los Angeles Lakers entered Friday night needing a win to earn a spot in the Western Conference Finals. While the game was taking place in their own building, the task ahead of them was a formidable one, as they needed to beat the defending champion Golden State Warriors if they wanted to secure a berth in the next round.

Tensions are always high in these sorts of environments, and at one point in the first quarter, a technical foul ended up getting assessed to Dennis Schröder, who was inserted into the starting lineup on Friday night after coming off of the bench in every game this postseason. The reason: He stood over Draymond Green while he was on the ground and taunted him.

There was some contact between Green and Schröder after LeBron James passed Green off to his teammate so he could guard Steph Curry, and while Green looked like he embellished a little, Schröder seemed very happy to stand right over him and bend down a bit while Green was getting up.

Schröder was smiling and laughing the whole time, and seemed like he was a little surprised when the referees hit him with a tech.

Austin Reaves Hit A Halfcourt Buzzer-Beater During Game 6 Of Lakers-Warriors

Austin Reaves gave the Lakers a double-digit lead heading into halftime.

The Los Angeles Lakers took a 10-point lead into halftime of Game 6 in their Western Conference Semifinal series against the Golden State Warriors. While it looked like they weren’t going to have a double-digit cushion heading into the break, a heads-up defensive play by Anthony Davis beget a halfcourt buzzer-beater by Austin Reaves that sent the fans at Crypto.com Arena into a frenzy and gave them a 56-46 cushion.

Klay Thompson airballed a three, but the ball landed in front of Donte DiVincenzo. Unfortunately for the former Villanova star, Davis was standing right there and swatted his attempt away. After Reaves was able to corral the ball with about three seconds left before the break, the former second-round pick took two dribbles, launched from halfcourt, and made it.

Reaves had an excellent first half in Game 6, as he scored 13 points with three assists and three rebounds. Los Angeles is looking to knock off the defending champions and avoid having to go back to San Francisco, where the two sides would play a winner-take-all game with a spot in the Western Conference Finals on the line. Whichever team ends up winning this series will end up taking on the Denver Nuggets, which punched their ticket to the next round on Thursday night.

Draymond Green Got Dennis Schröder Ejected By Sticking A Basketball In His Face

Both players were given technical fouls, but Schröder already had one due to another incident with Green earlier in the game.

Earlier on Friday evening, Dennis Schröder got a technical foul for an incident with Draymond Green in which Green hit the deck and Schröder decided to stand over him and laugh. It was a bit harsh, but it was the kind of thing that will almost always get a guy T’d up in a basketball game.

Fast forward to the third quarter and a second incident involving the two players led to a pair of technical fouls getting assessed, which meant that Schröder’s night came to a premature end. Anthony Davis converted an alley-oop by LeBron James, then stole the ensuing inbounds pass, which led to Green fouling him to prevent a second dunk in about three seconds.

Schröder went over to Green and flexed a little, and in return, Green did not appear to do anything other than take the basketball that was in his hands and put it right up against Schröder’s lips. He held it there for a few seconds before a ref came in and issued a single technical foul to Schröder.

It was eventually determined that Green would also get a technical foul for this, but not until after Schröder made his way into the locker room to watch the rest of the game.

An 18-Year-Old Man Has Reportedly Admitted To Fatally Shooting Rapper Pop Smoke

The man is expected to serve time in a juvenile facility until he is 25 years old.

An 18-year-old man who was charged in the 2020 shooting of rapper Pop Smoke has admitted to killing him in a juvenile court hearing, according to a report from Los Angeles Times.

The hearing took place this past Friday (May 12), wherein the 18-year-old also admitted to home-invasion robbery along with allegations that he personally and intentionally discharged a firearm at the time. The man was 15 years old at the time, and is reportedly expected to serve time in a state juvenile facility until he turns 25.

During the hearing, L.A. County Superior Court Judge J. Christopher Smith told the 18-year-old and his 19-year-old co-defendant that Pop Smoke, whose real name was Bashar Jackson, “lost his life over no good reason.” The judge has issued an order for the names of the defendants who were minors at the time to be withheld.

“You have no right to take somebody’s life. You have no right to take somebody’s property,” Smith said, per City News Service.

Additionally, three other people were charged in the killing of Pop Smoke during the hearing, according to the Associated Press. A teenager, whose name was also ordered to be withheld by the media, as well as Corey Walker, who was 19 at the time, and Keandre Rodgers, who was then 18, were charged with murder during the commission of a robbery and burglary.

Megyn Kelly Dared Charlize Theron To ‘F*ck Me Up’ Over Her Pro-Drag Queen Comments (Despite Charlize Playing Her In A Movie Once)

Theron recently vowed to ‘f*ck anybody up’ who came after drag queens. The former Fox News host took her up on that.

Charlize Theron has three Oscar nominations (and one win) under her belt, and one of them is for playing, of all people, Megyn Kelly. (That’s not the one she won for.) In Bombshell, the actress was terrifyingly transformed into the former Fox News host, who was one of many female staffers sexually harassed by the network’s former honcho, Roger Ailes. Did that make Kelly a Theron stan for life? Apparently not, because now she’s challenging her to a fight.

Theron was one of a number of celebrities who participated in the recent Drag Isn’t Dangerous telethon, which aimed to push back against the ridiculous far right campaign against drag queens doing shows for kids. During it, Theron gave one of the more passionate rally calls.

“We love you queens. We’re in your corner and we’ve got you, and I will f*ck anybody up who’s trying to f*ck with anything with you guys,” Theron said.

On her show SiriusXM show Friday, Kelly played the clip in full, but was not moved. On the contrary, she took up Theron’s dare.

“Okay, so why doesn’t Charlize Theron come and f*ck me up? Because I’m 100% against her on this,” Kelly thundered.

Kelly went on to parrot claims that drag shows for kids have included “sexual behavior, and like sexual references, just sexualization in front of children too young,” and accused them of “grooming.” She did acknowledge the elephant in the room, saying, “I feel like I have some weird connection with this person because she played me in a movie.”

During her telethon appearance, Theron mounted a fervent defense of drag shows. “There are so many things that are hurting and, really, killing our kids, and we all know what I’m talking about right now and it ain’t no drag queen,” she said. “Because if you’ve ever seen a drag queen lip-sync for her life, it only makes you happier, it only make you love more, it makes you a better person.”

Theron has not yet responded to Kelly’s dare, but surely it’s not a good idea to mess with Furiosa. In the meantime, at least Kelly recently scored an awkward selfie with another Bombshell star, Margot Robbie.

A Soccer Player Celebrated A Goal By Putting On A Spider-Man Mask

Sheraldo Becker scored in one of the biggest games in Germany this year, and celebrated in style.

The race for the final two Champions League spots in the Bundesliga this year has been sensational. Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are almost certainly clinching two of Germany’s four spots in Europe’s top continental club tournament, while RB Leipzig, Union Berlin, and SC Freiburg are all jostling for third and fourth.

Saturday offered up a gigantic opportunity for Union Berlin and Freiburg, as the two clubs squared off in Berlin. The home side managed to take a 3-0 lead into the dressing room thanks to an early goal by Kevin Behrens and a first-half brace by Sheraldo Becker, who celebrated the first of his two strikes by pulling out a Spider-Man mask that he apparently had with him the entire game up to that point, throwing it on, and doing his signature celebration where he drops down to a knee and pretends to shoot webs out of his hands.

“The celebration is for my kids,” Becker has said about the celebration in the past. “They simply love it when I score and celebrate like that.”

In addition to his two goals — his 12th and 13th of the campaign — Becker assisted Behrens on the opener. It’s not a bad day at the office, especially considering that he got to wear a superhero mask at work.

In addition to her upcoming album, Chemistry, as well as a Vegas residency, Clarkson is set to move her talk show from Los Angeles to New York City for its upcoming fifth season. Michael J. Fox Said A ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’ Scene Convinced Him To Retire From Acting

A key segment in ‘Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’ really resonated with Fox, who suffers from Parkinson’s disease.

Michael J. Fox has a new film out: a documentary about his life called Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie. It finds the beloved actor reflecting on his life and career, especially how it was impacted by Parkinson’s disease. A few years ago he formally retired from the profession that made his name, citing escalating health concerns. In a recent interview, he revealed what made him go through with the difficult decision.

In an interview with Empire (in a bit caught by Deadline), Fox — who’s spoken about how his condition made remembering lines difficult — said a scene in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood really resonated with him.

“There’s a scene where Leonardo DiCaprio’s character can’t remember his lines anymore,” Fox explained. “He goes back to his dressing room and he’s screaming at himself in the mirror. Just freaking insane. I had this moment where I was looking in the mirror and thought, ‘I cannot remember it anymore.’”

Instead of making him feel worse, Fox said the scene gave him the strength to do what was necessary. “[I was like] ‘Well, let’s move on,’” he said. “It was peaceful.”

Fox’s last onscreen acting credit was in a 2020 episode of The Good Fight. That doesn’t mean he’s retired from the public eye. He makes appearances now and then, including a Back to the Future reunion with Christopher Lloyd earlier this year. Then there was that time last year when Woody Harrelson, while presenting him with a humanitarian award, told a wild story about that time Fox puked up a cocktail of cobra blood.

Report: Jonathan Kuminga ‘Will Want To Be Somewhere He Can Play More’ If The Warriors Can’t Give Him A ‘Full-Time Role’

Jonathan Kuminga could be interested in playing elsewhere if the Warriors can’t give him a more prominent spot in their rotation.

The Golden State Warriors‘ “two-timeline” strategy did not produce a championship this year. The idea, essentially, was that the team could still compete at the highest level right now with its veteran core while bringing along a number of promising young players who can take the baton from Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson whenever that day comes.

The limitations both parts of that strategy have were on display throughout the year, and ultimately, the team just did not have enough to compete this season. Jonathan Kuminga, for example, lost his place in the rotation during the playoffs, and in the team’s Western Conference Finals series against the Los Angeles Lakers, the former No. 7 overall pick appeared in four games and averaged 6.3 minutes per game.

Apparently, Kuminga’s role is going to be a major thing Golden State needs to sort out this summer. According to Anthony Slater and Shams Charania of The Athletic, if the team cannot give him a “full-time role,” the 2021 first-round pick is going to want a change in scenery.

There’s an acknowledgement from the Warriors’ decision makers that some amount of rotation retooling is needed this summer. That could put Kuminga’s future in question. It’s been difficult to fit him into lineup combinations with both Green and Kevon Looney – two non-shooters – and that frontcourt logjam ahead of him is expected to remain in place.

The Warriors and Kuminga’s representatives are expected to discuss his future this offseason, league sources say. Golden State will need to decide whether Kuminga will receive a full-time role moving forward, and, if not, league sources say the No. 7 pick in the 2021 NBA Draft will want to be somewhere he can play more.

The Warriors have already traded one of the players who was a building block of the two-timeline strategy when they moved James Wiseman in a multi-team deal to bring Gary Payton II back at the trade deadline. Of course, it’s very easy to justify keeping Kuminga, who turns 21 in October, and hoping another year or two of development turns him into the kind of two-way force that would help Curry and co. considerably as they age. But if there is a sense of urgency that prevents the team from waiting for this, perhaps he can be the sort of trade chip that makes the Warriors all-in on winning another championship next season.

During his second year in the NBA, Kuminga appeared in 67 games, with 16 of them coming as a member of the starting lineup. He averaged 9.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.9 assists in 20.8 minutes a night while hitting 37 percent of his attempts from three.
